Ok so countdown to Cuba. The past few days have been a circus. Constant running around to do last minute things and pick up forgotten items. I have finished packing and weighed in all my bags. The suitcase is 40 pounds and my carry-on is like 20 (its all books and my laptop). I didn't want to bring so much but many things cannot be purchased in Cuba and a lot of it I plan to leave there. So it will only be a burden on the way over.
My flight leaves to Nassau in a few hours. I have to admit as excited as I am my nerves are really starting to get to me. I don't know what I am worried about. I just want to make sure I really make the most of my time there. Who knows when I will ever get a chance to come back.
I am going to miss you guys terribly. I will take loads of pictures though. I am not really sure what I want to accomplish while I am there or where I want to go. I have a few places in mind but I think that I am going to just wing it. I wish I had the time to bike all over the island. There is so much I want to see. I want to learn something new and do things I wouldn't get the chance to do here. I don't know.
If you guys have any recommendations please feel free to let me know. Well I will write again when I get settled in Havana.
Hasta Luego!

I know, it's like a mixture of feelings that makes it difficult to pinpoint. I hope all goes well and you get to post some photo's
What part of Havana are you staying in? As far as places to visit I will give you some:
-Capitol (Capitolio)
-The Cathedral (La Catedral)
-El Morro and La Cabana: the two major fortress you will see when you go to Old Havana
-Plaza de Armas
-The Revolution Museum (Museo de la Revolucion)
If I remember more I will let you know. If you need a guide or someone to help you out let me know, my brother is studying Medicine over there and he would be glad to show you around.
good luck
